Three words: Scandinavian. Modern. Desert. This is a special project because this also happens to be Kaitlyn’s home, our Owner + Principal Designer of Iconic Design+Build. Scandinavian design is a design movement characterized by simplicity, minimalism and functionality that emerged in the early 20th century, and subsequently flourished in the 1950’s. Modern design consists of neutral colors, clean design lines and environmentally-friendly materials. Desert modern style refers to California boho eclectic decor, a lot of mix and matching different patterns, mud-cloth pillows, rugs, in different layers.

This home was built in 1993, just down the street from Taliesin West, the home of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright from 1937 until 1959. Our favorite elements are the slat wall in the book, wallpaper on the ceiling in the dining room and steel wall in the primary bedroom.
